Feeding Directions
Mix with an appropriate amount of hot water (over 200 F). Blend with a spoon for one minute and pour into a flat pan to cool. Chill overnight in a refrigerator. Cut the gel by hand or with a food processor to obtain an appropriate size to feed.
The firmness of the gel is affected by the amount of water used. A good starting point is to use a 50:50 ratio by weight of dry diet and water.
The chart below was created by Betty Harris (aka dataguru) from the GAB. The chart is designed to help you choose which diet is best suitable for your goldfish. She recommends the following types of Mazuri Gel Food based on the age of the fish. Mazuri 58LK is higher in protein and is a great staple diet for younger, developing goldfish. Mazuri 5M70 is also higher in protein and can be fed to young growing goldfish. The mazuri gel powder can also be fed dry to fry. Mazuri Omnivore 5ML6 is lower in protein and is a great staple diet for adult goldfish.
